Insane Kyle Schwarber Home Run Stat Has Gotten Even Better

Some dudes just have a knack for performing in big spots. Team USA manager Mark DeRosa said he had a hard time not playing Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber during the World Baseball Classic. That’s because whenever there’s a big game, the probability of a Kyle Schwarber home run skyrockets.

And sure, Trea Turner‘s unreal power binge rightfully dominated the headlines. However, Schwarber’s postseason/tournament legend just grew with his performance in the 2023 WBC.

Team USA began its title defense with a Pool C matchup against Great Britain. Mike Trout, Mookie Betts, and friends won 6-2. One particular swing broke things open, though…it was this three-run homer in the fourth inning from Schwarber.

Schwarber is no stranger to hitting home runs in big spots. After all, he’s fresh off a deep postseason run with the Philadelphia Phillies, as well as being part of the Chicago Cubs core that won it all in 2016.

But still, that dinger led to the following awesome stat, as pointed out by The Baseballer on Instagram:

As if it couldn’t get any wilder, the left-handed slugger added another in the WBC Final against Japan:

After the fact, Jared Carrabis added even more to Schwarber’s legend. He also went deep during the Cape Cod League Championship while in college. So, the slugger has now gone deep during that game, literally every level of MLB’s postseason (from the Wild Card Round to the World Series), and the WBC Final. Insane.

For his career, the left-handed slugger is a .242/.341/.527 hitter in October. He already has 15 postseason home runs, with most of them coming in the NLCS (six) and World Series (three).

Schwarber also doesn’t get cheated on his dingers. His 488-foot moonshot to kick off the NLCS likely still has Bryce Harper shook. Turner will, unfortunately, make it a much less frequent occurrence in 2023, but he also took pretty well to hitting in the leadoff spot.

In case all this wasn’t enough, he’s already put himself toward the top of the Phillies’ single-season HR leaderboard, along with winning the 2022 NL Home Run crown. What kind of encore does he have in store for us in 2023?

Want to see Schwarbombs in person? Of course you do. Grab some tickets from our friends at Vivid Seats. And before you get to the stadium, make sure you’re decked out in the right gear. Get your official Phillies merch from the MLB Shop or a ‘Big Dinger Energy’ shirt from our apparel store.
