The 2024 season will only be Francisco Lindor‘s fourth with the New York Mets, but he’s already distinguished himself within franchise history at the shortstop position. His previous production has convinced us to keep tabs on his power progress this year with our 2024 Francisco Lindor Home Run Tracker.
Lindor is currently New York’s single-season franchise record holder for home runs by a shortstop. He actually has the top two spots. This includes the 31 dingers he hit in 2023 and the 26 he slugged in 2022. His RBI totals from each of the last two seasons (107 in 2022 and 98 in 2023) are also the two best single-season performances by a Mets shortstop.
The 30-year-old’s 2023 performance was reinforced even more by stealing 31 bases to become the fifth Mets player to join the 30-30 club. Lindor has finished ninth in National League MVP Award voting each of the last two years. What he did in 2023 helped him capture his third career Silver Slugger Award. It was the first time he won that honor since doing it in 2018 with Cleveland.
Every time Mr. Smile sends a ball over the fence this year, we’ll update this post with the date, opponent, distance, and exit velocity of the dinger, as well as a video of it. How many will Lindor slug in 2024? Keep checking back to find out.
Distance: 368 feet
Exit Velocity: 103.4 mph
