Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts has accomplished a lot during his MLB career. He’s won two World Series, has an MVP Award, has been to All-Star Games, and has racked up other individual awards like Gold Gloves and Silver Sluggers. One thing he’s never done is participate in the Home Run Debry. Until this year, that is. He’s tossed his hat into the ring, so we’re going to keep tabs of his progress with our Mookie Betts Home Run Derby 2023 Tracker.

Round 1 vs. Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: 11 Home Runs

According to ESPN’s Karl Ravech, Mookie had been talking all week about how he didn’t have a chance to win the Home Run Derby. Those chances probably went down in his mind after drawing Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as his first-round opponent. But still, it’s not like he did a bunch of whiffing at the plate — 11 homers ain’t all that shabby. Here’s a look at the full round between him and Vladito:
