The first season of Shohei Ohtani’s 10-year, $700 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers went quite well. He couldn’t pitch but made up for it with his bat. He established the 50-50 club, won his third MVP Award, and set a new single-season franchise record with 54 homers. Oh, and he won a World Series. What will he do for an encore? We’ll be keeping tabs with our 2025 Shohei Ohtani Home Run Tracker.
Similar to last season, this will be a central location for all of Ohtani’s 2025 homers. The information you can expect to see includes the date and opponent, along with the distance and exit velocity for each dinger.

Where Ohtani Stands in Dodgers HR History Entering 2025
Ohtani has spent just one full season with the Dodgers so far, but he got his tenure off to a fast start in the home run department. He’s already more than halfway to the century mark and is L.A.’s single-season home run king. His 54 homers are also a franchise record for primary designated hitters.
At the time of this original writing (after the Tokyo Series and before Opening Day in the U.S.), Ohtani has slugged 226 career homers. So, reaching the 250-homer plateau should be a given based on his recent production. The real question is how much further he can push it beyond that this season.
A Breakdown of Ohtani’s Yearly Home Run Production
The left-handed slugger first arrived in the big leagues in 2018. Here’s a quick rundown of his yearly home run production… you can clearly pinpoint when his power surge began:
- 2018: 22
- 2019: 18
- 2020: 7
- 2021: 46
- 2022: 34
- 2023: 44
- 2024: 54
The current pace Ohtani has maintained over the past three seasons means he should hit 64 in 2025, right? We’ll see. FanGraphs’ Steamer projections have him pegged for 43 taters this season. How many do you think he’ll hit in 2025? Drop your predictions in the comments.
