When it comes to consistency in the power department, few hitters can do it like Jose Ramirez has in recent years. That, plus his ascension on the Cleveland Guardians’ all-time home run list convinced us to put together a 2024 Jose Ramirez Home Run Tracker to keep tabs on his power progress this year.

Ramirez registered his first season of 20-plus homers in 2017 when he slugged 29 dingers with 83 RBI during a breakout campaign. He’s slugged at least 23 round-trippers six times since that season. The one time he didn’t was 202o, which was shortened by the pandemic. Ramirez still managed to hit 17 homers in just 58 games played.

He’s entering 2024 with 216 career homers, all with Cleveland. That has him in a three-way tie with Carlos Santana and Hal Trosky for the fifth-most taters in franchise history. A typical year from Ramirez could have him finish the regular season in second place, too. That’s a spot currently occupied by Albert Belle, who hit 242 homers during his time in Cleveland. So, Ramirez is just 26 homers away.

Every time the switch-hitter slugs a ball over the wall, we’ll update this post with the date, opponent, distance, and exit velocity of the dinger, as well as a video of it.
