While the San Diego Padres cut payroll over the winter by trading outfielder Juan Soto, several high-priced veterans are still with the club. One is third baseman Manny Machado. He’s under contract through 2033 to the tune of $350 million. Manny also has one of the sweeter right-handed swings in the game and it generates quite a bit of power. So, we’ll be monitoring his progress in the power department this year with our 2024 Manny Machado Home Run Tracker.
Machado is fresh off entering the 300-homer club in 2023. Since joining the Padres in 2019, he’s surpassed the 30-homer plateau three times. It’s happened each of the past two seasons, as well.
