The Tampa Bay Rays have been one of MLB’s most powerful teams all season when it comes to the home run department. You just knew one of those sluggers was going to be in the Home Run Derby, right? Those honors are going to Randy Arozarena, who will be participating in this event for the first time in his big-league career. We’ll be keeping tabs on his progress with our Randy Arozarena Home Run Derby 2023 Tracker.

Round 2 vs. Luis Robert: 35 Home Runs
Arozarena faced off with fellow Cuban Luis Robert and handily one this matchup by a score of 35-22. Here’s how things shook out:

Final vs. Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: 23 Home Runs
It came down to the final seconds, but Randy finished three homers shy of upsetting Vlad Jr. in the finals. He still slugged 82 total homers, the most of any competitor in 2023 and one of the highest all-time totals for a single Derby.
